Will you help Sweet Daisy?
A couple of weekends ago we partnered with a long time rescue friend, Dawn from GROWL, to move 5 puppies out of the kill shelter she works at. These puppies were surrendered due to no fault of their own, simply because the person "had too many dogs and they kept breeding". 4 of the 5 pups are doing amazing and will be available for adoption this coming week. The 5th, Daisy, who is the runt of the litter, is in the vet hospital fighting for her life and could use our prayers and donations for her care.
Daisy was coughing upon arrival and since some of the puppies got carsick during transport, we were concerned Daisy may have aspirated when she vomited. We immediately had our vet out and placed Daisy on antibiotics. She began to improve until this past Wednesday when she spiked a fever and began coughing more. We immediately brought her to the ER vet where they determined she needed more aggressive antibiotics, nebulizer treatments, and fluids. We brought her back to our sanctuary and treated her around the clock. Daisy stopped eating and her fever kept fluctuating so we returned to the vet and hospitalized our sweet girl to give her the best chance of surviving and living a long and happy life. Unfortunately, Daisy is not improving and we need to do further diagnostics and treatment. We don't know if we will be able to pull our sweet girl through this but we would sure like to give her every chance we can.
Her medical bills are currently $1400 and growing. If you can share her story, pray for her, and/or donate, we would all be so very appreciative. We will keep everyone posted on her progress and thank you for your ongoing support.
