Fiona - Pig

Fiona, and her sister Amelia, were the first pigs to ever come to the sanctuary, back when we were in NY.  We got them in January of 2011 when they were just about a week old.  They had been purchased by someone and they couldn't get them to eat.  It had been over a day since they ate and they were becoming dehydrated.  We drove in a snowstorm to go and get them and bring them home.  We warmed them up and got them to drink milk replacer from a pan.  They lived in our bathroom for several months as they grew up!  Sadly, Amelia passed away when she was only 3 years old.  


Fiona loves belly rubs, mud baths, and of course, FOOD!  She has several piggy friends now, her favorite being Franklin.  She opened our world to how incredible pigs are and we have learned so much from her over the years.  She and her sister are the reason that several pigs now call Happy Tales home.
