- We rescued 2 baby goats in the Spring who came to us full of parasites and with upper respiratory infections. They are both happy and thriving now. We are currently in the process of rescuing another goat who would wind up in a kill shelter if she didn't come here. She should be here next week. 

- We rescued Mayleah, formerly Higgins, the "feral" dog who landed herself in a kill shelter with 20 other dogs. All of the others got adopted and she was left behind and deemed as unadoptable and slated for euthanasia. She did not enjoy human contact and would shake like a leaf when approached by a human. She was great with dogs and never offered to be aggressive with people so the shelter staff reached out to us asking if we could offer a solution other than euthanasia. She came here to Happy Tales and within days started coming up to us, within weeks she allowed us to pet her, and now, we'll, she is a lap dog and living her life being loved by and loving humans, and her fellow canine companions. 

- We rescued and found homes for 15 dogs. 

- We took in, raised, and released 4 baby robins, and 8 baby opossums and rehabilitated and released several other injured wildlife patients. 

- We have already rescued 2 beautiful horses from the kill pen and facilitated a rescue and adoption of a third. 

- We accomplished all of this while still successfully providing the highest level of love and care to our 40 plus permanent residents that were here to start the year. 

- We grew our FB community to over 12k fans, and we have increased our monthly members as well. 

- We also made progress on the property. We put in beautiful gardens that helped to feed the animals all spring and summer and even pet of the fall (and the greens just keep on giving!). We also planted our first orchard and look forward to seeing our fruit trees and berry bushes to provide nourishment for the animals, wildlife, and visitors for years to come. 

-We regraded our roads and began placing gravel. 

- We expanded our exotics area adding new enclosures and extending others. 

- We completely redid our horse areas, redid the roads and dry lots and moved two buildings to their new spots to welcome our new horses. 

- We began developing ideas and plans for our horse arena area to offer more services to the public in 2021
